troubleshooting of wdm2 wdg3a locomotive
1.FOP not building up
If Fuel pump motor not working then check battery voltage on D/L ,Battery switch, MB1,MB2, MFPB1,MFPB2, FPC, AFPB, FPB and FPM Comm carbons & connection if I FPM working then check fuel oil level, filters, airlock and external leakage.
2.Loko not Cranking
To check FPM working, ESR-4/BSR N/C I/L, ECS in idle, MUSD on Run. start button S1,P22 NC I/L,CK-1,CK-2coil and CK-1 N/O I/L connections and proper contacts cleaning.
3.Loco not starting
To check, OSTA tripped or normal Rack responding or not, Governor OIL,Governor pump and Amphanal plug, LWS and LWS Cock, water level, CK2 NC I/L, battery voltage.
4.ESD after start button releasing
Lube oil pressure not maintaing OPS effective improper setting,SAR N/O-IL-16-16M defective.
5.ESD with Over speeding
OSTA,Rack,Torsion spring,SAR coil, Techo generator ECP connection defective.
6-BA Showing discharge
AGFB,VRR fuse, VRP connection and
cords ,VRCLS cables, RCD,BAS connections,aux generator connection
and condition.
7.BA Showing overcharge
VRCLS connections, Battery sales
defective. (B Knife switch is to open during online working.)
8) Engg not responding withTH
Should be ECS Run, MCB On, DMR in pick up, PCS- connection COC not open, GR normal, BKT-Mot,TH I/L,SAR - 1-2-3-4 condition and ECP connection.
9). GFC not picking up
ECS run, BKT Mot, Throttle condition& I/L, both GFCO should on,SH in 1,2,3,4 condition, TR I/L, BKT- 1 I/L,CK1-CK2-No I/L,GR I/L,GFOLR & VAPR Connection & Contact cleaning.
10.Loco not responding withTH
Should be reversed in position. ECS run,GFC
pick-up, BKT MOT, Control press ＞5.0 kg,DMR in pick-up,GR, LCR/LCP, WSR
1,2,3 normal,TH I/L, SAR-1,2,3,4 condition,Exciter,T/Gen carbons& connection excitation cards 188,254,253, P/C S1, S21,S31 in pickup.
11.Loco moving but Load meter Zero.
a)TM 1-4 defective,LAS&connection,AR1-2 load meter.
b)The FRP needs to be reset so that the notch-wise current can reach at its required level.
12.first transition not coming
Axel generator, TET,TRP & cord, FSSR, FS-21, power contactor S21,P2,TR,Interlock and connection.
13.second transition not coming
TRP and cord,FSSR,FS-21,FS-23,Power contactor S21,S-1,TR,GFC,inter lock & connection.
14.Third transition not coming
TRP and cord,FSSR,FS-21,Power contactor S21,P2 ,TR,interlock and connection.
15.contact wheel slip
TM-Excel lock, pinion slack,Cable cut, WSRR open, WSRR
1,2, Power contactors, FSS welded, foreign material on BKT/REV.
16.Moment0ry wheel sleep
Oil, salt,dew, water on track,P/C making-breaking, Loose connection of BKT,REV,TM,LAS.
17.power ground (explosive)
Traction generator armature, Commutator, Carbons, Brush holders,ACCR & Cables are grounded.
18.power ground (non-exclusive)
Traction Motors armature, Commutator, Carbons, Brush holders, Cables,WSRR,WSR LAS,Load meters,AR1-2,Power contactors are grounded.P/C making breaking, foreign
material on BKT/REV.
19.Starting round
All low tension wires, Battery , Dome light holder, switch, speedometer &air dryer are grounded.
20.Loco moved with jerk.
GFC no I/L,EC1-2, ER15, BKR I/L Excitation cord
188, 253, 254, ACCR are defective or foreign material on BKT/REV.
21.Loco shut down with indication
I-Less water,LWS effective. I/L 50D- 50J (GE-gov)& 16E- 16H (www.Gov,) wires& I/L.
2-Low Lube
oil, less oil pressure OPS setting and connections.
21.load shut down with indication
MUSD off, OSTA tripped, Governor and governor amphenol plug,Fuel rack ,Techo generator output, SAR I/L,MB-2 ,MFEB-1,2,FPB,AFPB&FPM defective.
22.engine hunting
less Governor oil, Amphenol plug , pilot valve,SP,Rack, ECP,Techo generator are defective.
23.radiator fan not working
R12 contectors, ECC connection carbons and ECC defective.
24.radiator fan contactor working
R1-2 connectors,ETS 1-2 shorted and ECC
defective.
25.Cont.HEA
Radiator fan not working,ETS-3 defective,less water, Radiator core dirty and door open.
26.GF packed
Goods train first worked in
series and after in parallel, if directly in parallel (in this condition
GF may be packed by wooden wedge.
26.DMR packed for PCs shorted
Take care for BP dropping because Loko have not come in idol during emergency by A-9 or Break applying by guard.
27.Axel generator broken
Transition not coming in
Loco. then worked in series or take parallel transition.
28.Auxiliary generator deffective
Loco will work only 4 - 5 hours on battery in day
(without head light) # 3-4 hours in night.
29.Head light defective
Loco will
work as per G&SR. up to 50 km per hour speed and with using whstle.
30.Techo generator dffective
GE Governor type Loco will shut down and WW Governer type loco will work only in idol speed.
